The MSU-Northern women’s basketball team picked up their fourth conference win of the season over the weekend as they knocked off Montana Tech 52-51. The Skylights rallied in the fourth quarter outscoring Tech 18-9 to forge the win. Northern coach Chris Mouat talks about what fueled his team’s fourth quarter comeback.
Coach Mouat, “We were able to get stops in that fourth quarter, we actually switched to our zone and I thought it was pretty effective. The opportunity for some more possessions, we took advantage of those, I thought we were pretty efficient on offense.”
Ahead this week the Skylights face the daunting task of road games at Carroll College Thursday and Rocky Mountain College Saturday, and for the Skylights their coach says it’s all a matter of putting the ball in the hole.
Coach Mouat, “We’re going to have to shoot the ball better than we did in both games, execute on offense, get good shots, put the ball in the hole, finish. Kind of been a reoccurring theme but we just have to put the ball in the hole and get good shots.”
With two weeks and four games left in the season, this is a critical juncture of the campaign for the Skylights.
Coach Mouat, “Two nationally ranked teams on the road, it’s a heck of a tough weekend, our kids are aware of it, because we’ve already played them each twice. Hit the road and see what we can do.”
