As the MSU-Northern wrestling team preps for the start of the 2019 portion of their schedule head coach Tyson Thivierdge has had his team working hard over the past two weeks in an effort to make a push toward the conference and national tournaments. While the current season is always the priority coach Thivierdge is never far from the recruiting trail, with this in mind Tyson told New Media Broadcasters that local Havre standout Lane Paulson has signed a letter of intent to wrestle for the Lights starting with the 2019-2020 season. Coach Thivierdge says Lane will make a fine addition to the Northern wrestling team.
Coach Thivierdge, “Lane has a great dedication to the sport, and his upside is huge. We think he’s going to grow into a hell of a wrestler, you know he has a big frame. Likely going to go 141 the start of next year but who knows what that growth spurt is going to do this spring and summer. But we’re excited to have Lane on board, his potential is huge.”
Lane Paulson has been a state runner up and state placer at the All Class State Championship wrestling tournament and is currently ranked second in the state at 138.
